The fall semester is winding down, with Halloween in the rearview and Thanksgiving next week. But before Christmas-Hanukkah-Kwanzaa arrives (or Festivus, as it’s celebrated at FTS HQ…), college-aged Black Bears buckle down for finals. So, in the spirit of solidarity with our student friends, we’re hitting the books, too. They say to write what you […]
With Stephen King’s The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County coming to The Collins Center for the Arts this Saturday to kick off its national tour (as previewed by FTS’s own Matt Grondin), it seems only fitting to reflect upon King’s impact as one of the College of Our Hearts’ most storied alums. Going to school is hard, especially if you are under the age of twenty-one. But when that much cherished birthday rolls around you have a freedom that has been celebrated since prohibition ended in 1933. Like any great college town, Orono is home to many great bars, pubs and watering holes where you can Fill The Steins which begs the question, “what is the best bar in Orono?”
To a UMaine student, the mention of “parking” inevitably causes perspiration, grit of the teeth, and the swelling of anxiety in the stomach. Accompanied by our official #RiseAndStein Tailgate Album, we present to you our best and worst of Homecoming Weekend 2014.
Fill The Steins gives its DOs and DON’Ts for your Black Bear Homecoming tailgate. Because information is power.
With less than a week to go until our #RiseAndStein Tailgate at the University of Maine we had a really big show talking about Homecoming, Black Bear Hockey, and Handsome Guys on the latest episode of the Fill The Steins Podcast. With Homecoming Weekend nearly upon us we had a major announcement regarding our live […]
When I texted “so pumped…buff chick Wednesday” to my girlfriend at another school, she thought for sure I was cheating. But we in Orono know better. Buff Chick Wednesday is why we do what we do. It’s why we wake up for the 8 am classes. It’s why we endure six other days of dining hall “cuisine.”
An annual tradition – certainly unlike any other – is Fill The Steins’ Top 10 Reasons to be Excited for UMaine Homecoming.
We had always envisioned having a staff of on-campus content providers so we could get the perspective of not just alumni but also current Black Bears. That is why with great pride we raise a glass and welcome the newest addition to the Fill The Steins staff, Griffin Stockford, our student contributor.
